If you're fortunate enough to live near a Loblaws in Montreal, you may be familiar with the brand Joe Fresh. Their products are available in over 300 stores across Canada and will be entering the American market this fall! The brand may be relatively new but Creative Director Joe Mimran has been around for over 25 years developing labels like Alfred Sung, Club Monaco and Caban. Stylish and suuper affordable, I've found myself going to the market for bananas and coming out with a new blazer ;)

THIS IS THE LAST PAIR OF SHOES I PROMISE!! (For this week ;)

This brand exploded out of Vancouver soon after its creation by Damian Van Zyll De Jong. Their SUPER lightweight collection is made of EVA-injection shoe .... (whaat?!) ANYWAY they are craazy light and have antimicrobial coating (wow!) I guess that means they won't smell like ur Toms ;) hehe.

As part of the International Music Festival in Montreal from September 21-25, 2011 

the ARCADE FIRE are playing a concert gratuit (free concert!) 

at place des Festivals of Quartier des Spectacles.

 Show starts at 9pm!

NOTE: They are also playing for $45 tonight at Metropolis... although it's sold out and actually impossible to get a ticket if you don't have one. AS IN they are using a paperless system so your credit card + photo ID gets you in.....so that scalpers can't get their grimy lil fingers on tickets.

The BEAT of Montreal

My mom, sweet as she is, makes me laugh very hard sometimes. Take today for example...

To understand the funny part you need some background information.... so she drives my siblings to school every morning and is usually stuck in traffic from 8:00 - 9 am. This is what you would call a prime radio spot and usually the good stations deliver an awesome morning show for people stuck in that very same situation. Since their morning show is so good, she has been a dedicated listener of Mix 96 (Now known as Virgin radio) since we moved to Montreal in 2001. But recently her very favourite radio personality Cat Spencer decided to leave the station (gasp!). She has been avidly looking listening for Cat ever since he left the show and low and behold Wednesday morning by a simple twist of fate just guess whose voice comes over the speakers as my brother is switching stations to find a good song... ???!!!!!

For those of you who don't know, for the past 3 years over 1000 of manhattan retailers have participated in the after-hours shopping extravaganza known as Fashion's Night Out, in an effort to jump start sales.

DJ's spin all over the city, free mani/pedis, makeovers, celebrities/designers/models everywhere, contests, and free transport through town on a grey double decker bus sponsored by none other than Barbie...not so coincidentally this event will kick off the start of mercedes benz fashion week.
